Indonesia’s Three-phase Tourism Recovery Plan – Short- & Long-Term Goals Unveiled

In September this year, at the Global Tourism Forum, Indonesia revealed a three-phase tourism recovery plan to get the tourism industry back on track. From 2021 to 2022, as part of the first phase, the focus will be on encouraging domestic tourism, ensuring Cleanliness, Health, Safety and Environmental Sustainability (CHSE) protocols are adhered to and speeding up digital transformation. In the second phase (2022 to 2024) tourism villages and community-based tourism will be promoted; the third phase (2024 to 2029) will include strengthening destination resilience, promoting adventure and wellness offerings and stepping up marketing campaigns.

A popular tourist destination, Indonesia also offers safe accommodation which will be a key factor once international borders reopen. Apart from the capital, Jakarta, and other cities, travellers also have the option of staying at hotels in Bandung, West Java; here, properties like FOX Harris Hotel City Center Bandung provide a vibrant base that caters to business guests, families and travel enthusiasts alike.
