A luxury all-inclusive resort in the Maldives, OZEN LIFE MAADHOO is garnering more recognition for its innovative approach to sustainability – its very own indoor hydroponic farm. This eco-friendly initiative featured on the HortiDaily website in April this year, highlights the resort’s commitment to food security, environmental protection, and providing guests with an unparalleled farm-to-table experience. Spanning 140 square metres, this hydroponic farm cultivates a diverse selection of 13 leafy greens and herbs, including lettuce, Thai and Italian basil, and kale. These ingredients are used at on-site restaurants and bars, ensuring guests enjoy the fresh flavour and nutritional benefits of locally grown produce.
The commitment to sustainability goes beyond catering to in-house guests. One of the stand-out Green Globe-certified luxury Maldives resorts, it also shares its bounty with other hotels under the Atmosphere Core portfolio; it sends around 200 kg of fresh produce each month to OBLU XPERIENCE Ailafushi and OZEN RESERVE BOLIFUSHI. The hydroponic farm is just one of many initiatives undertaken by OZEN LIFE MAADHOO to offer eco-conscious travellers a truly sustainable vacation experience in the idyllic Maldives.
