The international conference on recycling and waste management was held in Colombo on the 4th of September 2022. The objective of the event was to integrate researchers and academics to create sustainable solutions to waste management and find means to improve the recycling process in Sri Lanka to establish a sustainable and eco-friendly island. The event occupied around 500 delegates, both local and international along with a few well-known personalities.
The conference also gave a special focus on the waste management and recycling of Sri Lanka resorts and hotels in Bentota, Galle, and other areas of the island. Eco-friendly tourism in Sri Lanka has been highlighted as a must. Leading accommodation options in Sri Lanka including Avani Bentota by Browns Hotels & Resorts were likely chosen by the international guests who attended this event. The fruitful discussion will lead to more environmentally conscious initiatives in the near future.
