The International Kite Festival in Cha Am near Hua Hin, one of the most anticipated events in Thailand, took place this month attracting locals and tourists alike. It was held from 09th to 11th March 2024 at the Rama VI Camp within easy reach of accommodation providers such as Avani+ Hua Hin Resort; such beachside properties are an ideal place to not only fly kites and enjoy fun things to do with kids in Hua Hin but also try kitesurfing, a popular activity in the region.
Organised by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, this year’s event was the 12th edition and saw the sky filled with kites of all shapes, sizes, and colours. Visitors had the chance to take in the spectacular aerial displays, learn to make kites and witness kite-flying competitions which attracted participants from across the world. Amongst the highlights of the event were the showcase of Thai and international kites as well as a ‘fighting’ kite show and a fast kite flying contest.
