International Symposium for the Asia Heritage Network 2016

Asia Heritage Network was born out of the symposium held in 2013 with the theme “The Urban Conservation Network in Asia and Its Future: Heritage, Cultural Identities and Asian Dynamism” by Penang Heritage Trusts and Nara Machizukuri Centre with speakers who participated from countries like Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Bhutan, Cambodia, Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar and Malaysia. The Symposium will be held once again in 2016 with the theme “Supporting Historic Urban Conservation Activities in Emerging Countries in Asia”. The event is scheduled to commence from 8 to 11 January 2016 at Karangasem, Bali, Indonesia. One of the key topics scheduled to be discussed is on how conservation and economy development could go along together while stimulating each other.
