The growth of the tourism industry in the North of Sri Lanka increased with the return of the “Queen of Jaffna”. The train service gives tourists the opportunity to visit the once remote city with ease. The newly reconstructed city is booming to be Asia’s next biggest tourist destination according to Ian Neubauer, a freelance journalist who is based in Sydney. Travellers looking forward to go on Sri Lanka tours could use services of a renowned tour operator in the country such as Walkers Tours Sri Lanka.
In his feature article to CNN, Neubauer also mentioned an interview that took place between him and the famous restaurateur from Colombo, Harpo Gooneratne who is planning to open up a coffee house and a hotel school in Jaffna which will create job opportunities for the locals as well as places to dine for tourists.
