Island Nation Sri Lanka to target 2.3 million tourists in 2024 – Drawing Tourists from Europe and Asia

Sri Lanka aims to increase their foreign currency influx through increased tourists, aiming for visitors from Europe such as Germany and the UK, as well as Asian superpowers like India and China. According to statistics released by the local authorities, these countries are also expected to be the most popular arrivals – with India leading the numbers at 343,000 expected visitors, closely followed by 258,000 from Russia.

To help with this effort, several local events, such as music and art festivals will be held to help popularize the social aspects of many tourist hotspots, as well as to showcase the natural beauty of the country. This ensures a steady stream of bookings to places like the Araliya Beach Resort & Spa, along with other beachfront hotels in Unawatuna.
