The tourism industry in Sri Lanka was able to clear the air directly with the ITB which took place in Berlin, Germany on 7th of March 2018. This unique tourism platform represented more than 180 countries including potential buyers from all parts of the world. ITB 2018 was a great event to enhance business links and to make the media aware of the actual reason behind making several hotels in Kandy unavailable for a brief period in March 2018. The Sri Lanka pavilion attracted many visitors since it featured unique tourism products and services and diverse holiday experiences addressing the interests of European travellers. For instance, after having an Ayurveda spa therapy, tourists were inspired to visit Sri Lanka for a complete healing therapy which could be experienced at many hotels in Kandy by entities such as Amaya Resorts.
