The annual Jakarta International Film Festival returns this year serving as a meeting spot for filmmakers, movie buffs and other industry players. Taking place from the 15th of November to the 6th of December, the event consists of several programs held at a range of destinations and can be accessed when based at a hotel in Jakarta such as Keraton at The Plaza, Jakarta. Pop-Up Cinema held from 15th to 16th of November displays the most recently made Indonesian films. Its aim is to facilitate the exchange of ideas among film activists. Held from 21st to 23rd of November, World Cinema is the festival’s program celebrating foreign cinematic masterpieces. This year’s edition of the festival introduces a new program titled ‘Open-Air Cinema’, which involves a variety of activities associated with screening of films openly in public spaces.
