Japan reveals more details of its planned travel bubble

Exploring Japan is now possible

When opening the country for foreign tourists gradually, Japan will follow a ‘travel bubble’ concept where it will only allow visitors from selected countries into the borders of Japan. So far, New Zealand, Australia, Thailand, and Vietnam are on the list of selected countries, and travellers from these countries will also have to adhere to provide negative PCR tests according to the latest guidelines.

However, even hotels like Grand Park Otaru providing popular options for Hokkaido accommodation have been given strict health and safety protocols that they have to follow when accepting foreign tourists. The country will be first opened to business travellers, and only after that, they will take in students and eventually the tourists.
