Jetwing Lighthouse, located in the historic coastal city of Galle, recently had the distinguished honour of being named as Sri Lanka’s sole recipient of the prestigious Wine Spectator Award of Excellence. A remarkable achievement not only amongst Galle restaurants but dining venues across the country, the hotel’s Cardamom Café was bestowed with this impressive award which is only given to establishments that not only have a diverse and wide ranging selections of wines, but also those which complement the cuisine served. The hotel which was featured in Wine Spectator’s August print issue, as part of the Annual Restaurant Awards Guide, offers carefully curated wines from around the world and provides guests a variety of vintages to choose from as well. Apart from its eclectic range of wines, Jetwing Lighthouse has also hosted events for connoisseurs in the recent past including a Master Class on Grand Crus, 2005 vintage wines.
