Kalutara Industrial Zone to Be Expanded – To Meet Growing Investor Demands

The Sri Lankan Cabinet has given approval for the Kalutara Industrial Zone to be expanded. It has been decided thus due to the lack of space in the eight investment zones in the Western Province to provide space for new investors who are looking forward to commencing operations. This industrial zone is located within easy reach of Anantara Kalutara Resort, which also facilitates business conferences in Sri Lanka. This decision has given access to accommodate more investors. It has been approved to expand the already-existing 50-acre industrial zone by another 1.9 hectares by amalgamating the state land next to it.

The zone, which is known as the Fullerton Estate, already houses commercial operations carried out by 33 investors, who have invested approximately Rs. 837 million while providing around 775 employment opportunities.
