A Sri Lankan eco-tourism guide, Sarath Wijewardena, together with British traveller Aaron Moore, is journeying from Point Pedro to Dondra Head, uncovering and documenting lesser-known tourism experiences across the island. Their route recently brought them through the Knuckles range to Kandy, where they were welcomed with blessings at the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic before attending a media briefing.
Speaking at the event, Moore highlighted Sri Lanka’s importance as a travel destination, especially the Central Province and Kandy. For visitors looking to discover the city, a Kandy city tour offers an ideal way to experience its cultural landmarks, while properties such as Cinnamon Citadel Kandy provide convenient and comfortable accommodation. He also noted that the journey would help promote the country’s tourism offerings internationally.
The briefing was organised under the guidance of the Central Province Tourism Department, with support from the Kandy District Tourism Development Committee and the Kandy Hoteliers Association. Kandy Mayor Chandrasiri Wijayanayake and several other officials also attended the gathering.
