Kandy Esala Perahera – A Breathtaking Display of Culture and Devotion

Every year in July and August, the city of Kandy nestled among the hills becomes the centre of attention not just of Sri Lanka, but from around the world as well. The reason is the extravagant Esala Maha Perahera or parade. This year, this grand event was held between 29th of July to 8th of August.
