Kandy Sports Club Vs Singapore 1st XV Rugby Encounter – Home Team Triumphant

In a recently held rugby encounter, Sri Lankan club rugby team, Kandy Sports Club defeated the national rugby team of Singapore, 44 to 14 points. The match which took place on the 21st of October 2017 was hosted at the Nittawela Rugby Stadium, the home ground of Kandy Sports Club. Sri Lanka’s defending club rugby champions, Kandy Sports Club scored a total of six tries (and four conversions) and two penalties, while the visiting Singapore team could only manage two tries (and two conversions). Both the Kandy and Singaporean teams were without their regular captains, Gayan Weeraratne and Gaspar Tan respectively. Priyantha Gunaratne was the referee for this particular game with Sarath Madugalle and Ishantha Abeykoon officiating as the assistant referees.
