Kenya Sees Significant Earnings in 2022 – Country Sees Increased Arrivals in 2023

In the early part of the year, the Ministry of Tourism in Kenya revealed that revenue from the tourism sector in 2022 reached over $2.1 billion; this was a significant increase of 83% when compared to the same period last year as the country looks to get its tourism industry back on track. While there were 1.48 million arrivals recorded last year, Kenya is targeting to attract more visitors in 2023 as the country looks to more than double its revenue from tourism over the next four years.

The signs have been positive in 2023 as arrivals at two of the nation’s key international airports have increased nearly 50% in the first quarter over the same period in 2022. This was put in the spotlight on The Star Online news website on 6th June 2023 which revealed that 337,825 travellers were welcomed at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and Mombasa’s Moi International Airport. This bodes well for the rest of the year as travellers return to enjoy the best safaris in Kenya; these include those offered by the likes of SkySafari which give visitors a chance to experience luxury safaris with diverse wildlife encounters in the country’s well-known reserves and national parks.
