Plans to reopen popular Thai tourist destinations such as Koh Samui in July 2021 are on track according to the Tourism Authority of Thailand; this was highlighted in an online article posted on the Thaiger website on 4th May 2021. As part of the reopening, foreign tourists who have received the complete dose of the COVID-19 vaccine will be targeted and it will be hoped that this kick starts tourism in the country.
Additionally, in Koh Samui, 5 star resort properties including the likes of Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort follow strict health and hygiene guidelines so guests can stay with confidence as well. While it’s reported that the island is expecting around 1,000 visitors in the first week of July, other destinations will be reopening during this period as well; these include Phuket, Pattaya, Phang Nga, Chiang Mai and Krabi.
