Connect@Changi in Singapore has been hailed as the first bubble facility in the world and lets corporate travellers conduct business without the need to quarantine. The first batch of guests arrived in March this year from countries such as Japan, the UAE, France and Germany; apart from accommodation, it features special meeting rooms with air-tight glass panels where face to face meetings with counterparts can be conducted.
Such measures will no doubt help the local hospitality and MICE sectors recover as well. The nation has already put in place comprehensive health measures including implementing SG Clean certification by the National Environment Agency for properties like Grand Park Orchard; such centrally located hotels in Orchard Road, Singapore have adopted enhanced hygiene and cleanliness protocols with the safety of guests at heart.
