Koh Samui in Thailand Ready Again for Business – Sunny Skies Ahead!

While 2019 got off to a turbulent start in the Gulf of Thailand due to Tropical Storm Pabuk, islands such as Koh Samui weathered the storm as it were and have been welcoming visitors as usual. The tropical storm which had winds of up to 65kph was expected to cause a lot of damage though it thankfully dissipated once having hit the mainland. During this period, flights in and out of Samui Airport were temporarily suspended as were ferry services between Surat Thani.

The island is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Thailand and it was feared that the storm would have a lasting adverse effect on tourism in Koh Samui. Resort and hotel properties on the island including the likes of Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort are back in business however as the effect of this extreme weather condition was relatively minimal. As an added bonus, sunny weather is predicted in March!
