The Kuta Karnival is an annual festival of joy held to promote the importance of peace and togetherness in the society. The grand festival was inaugurated in 2002 in the island of Kuta as a ‘community’ and ‘recovery’ initiative of the prestigious Kuta Small Business Association (KSBA) for the natives and is amply supported by the local authorities and community representatives of Kuta, Legian and Seminyak. Kuta Karnival is a week full of fun and celebrations with a variety of events and activities to engage the local crowd such as the Kuta Food Festival, a Paddle for Peace, numerous flags and banners carried on a ‘sunset parade’ along with music and art festivals on the beach and at various other locations in the island. The week-long carnival draws the crowds from the neibouring towns like Legian resulting in them having to return to a nearby and convenient Legian hotel for night accommodation like the OSSOTEL. The theme for each year’s event is different and unique.
