Statistical reports have identified that over the course of last six years the tourist footfall from China to Laos has increased drastically and it is continuing to grow. The year 2012 had a total of 245000 tourists visiting the country and then onwards there was an increasing trend in the number with a total of 545 493 tourists arriving at Laos in 2017. China has become a key market for the domestic tourism industry. Economists and analysts state that this increase is due to the emerging middle class population in China. It has been expected that the total will add up more than the last year’s tourist footfall. To add further backing to the above statement, resort properties the likes of AVANI+ Luang Prabang which is a renowned Hotel in Luang Prabang along with many others have received more Chinese tourists this year than the last.
