Laos Borders Reopened to British Tourists – Luang Prabang Now Accessible

British tourists looking to travel overseas this year received good news at the start of 2022 when Laos reopened its borders to tourists including those from the UK. Since 1st January this year, fully vaccinated travellers from England have been able to visit this small Southeast Asian country which offered access to select destinations including Luang Prabang; a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this ancient capital is home to key Buddhist temples and offers safe accommodation at properties like Avani+ Luang Prabang. For travellers based at such a well-placed hotel, Luang Prabang Laos sightseeing tours can be enjoyed to attractions like Wat Xieng Thong, Wat Mai and Haw Kham Royal Palace.

Other destinations which were part of the initial reopening were Vientiane, the nation’s capital, and Vang Vieng, popular amongst adventure sports enthusiasts. More locations subsequently became accessible as well with the list expected to be expanded in July this year.
