Also known as the ‘festival of lights’, the Loy Krathong is one of the most colourful festivals in Bangkok. It is scheduled to be held on 22nd November in different parts of Bangkok. On the festival day, the locals release lotus shaped buckets lit with candles into the rivers. In addition, there is a Buddhist purification ceremony to cleanse the spirits and many traditional Thai dance shows. The ‘Yee Peng’ festival is an important highlight in the Loy ‘Yee Peng’ festival. It’s an incredible sight to behold how thousands of lanterns float in the sky creating a dreamy and surreal atmosphere. Those who wish to witness this beautiful sight can reserve their stay at one of the many Chaweng beach resorts the likes of Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort prior to their visit.
