One of Thailand’s not to be missed national events, the Festival of Lights, locally known as Loy Krathong will be celebrated on the 3rd of November 2017 in Phuket. This is an annual event celebrated on the 12th lunar month. People get together around canals, rivers, and lakes around Phuket with their wishes and prayers and Krathong, floating lanterns carrying joss sticks and candles to pay respects to the goddess of water. This picturesque festival involves the tradition of making various items including buoyant and baskets that are beautifully adorned and set to float on water on a full moon day.
