Loy Krathong Festivals in Pattaya – A celebration unique to Thailand

The Loy Krathong festival, celebrated annually in Thailand, is due to be celebrated in the early weeks of November – noted as the festival of Lights for the country. It is a celebration that derives its name from the traditional practice of floating baskets (also known as krathongs) on the rivers of Thailand and is celebrated across the hotspots of Pattaya, Bangkok, and Koh Samui, as it is quite popular amongst tourists, especially those who stay in a Pattaya beach resort.

For some tourists at some properties, like the Avani Pattaya Resort, watching the krathongs float down rivers and other bodies of water is quite calming in many ways – and is a great way to experience the deep-rooted culture of Thailand, especially as the event is held during the evenings and nights.
