One of the most vibrant festivals held in Bangkok each year, Loy Krathong sees people gather near lakes and canals to perform a ritual to pay their respect to goddess of water. This ritual is the releasing of lotus shaped rafts fixed with flowers and candles onto the water. This year, the festival falls on the 7th of November and is bound to see the city come alive with hordes of people carrying brightly lit krathongs and heading towards lakes. All are welcome to participate in the festivities. It is wise to make reservations in advance at one of the Star hotels in Bangkok such as Vic3 Bangkok.
