Sukhumvit, the tourist favourite coastal route from Bangkok to Khlong Yai District is likely to benefit from Bangkok’s development into a much sought-after tourist destination. Therefore, lodgings like Avani Sukhumvit Bangkok Hotel will be facing significant competition as the luxury hotel industry booms, aligning with the staggering growth of tourist arrivals to the country. As reported on Nikkei Asia on the 9th of August 2022, Bangkok is set to introduce 50 new luxury hotels in future years, following the ease of COVID-19 restrictions and recovery in the tourism industry.
Tophotelnews Germany reports that Bangkok is set to introduce 13 five-star hotels in 2024, in addition to the 4-star hotels already built and introduced. Marriot International, which operates under the brand Ritz Carlton will also declare open a hotel within the One Bangkok commercial complex which is perhaps the most highly anticipated arrival of all.
