One of the iconic locations in the capital city of the United Arab Emirates is Yas Island. Its 25km2 is home to a plethora of top-notch retail stores, cafes and restaurants, many luxury hotels in Abu Dhabi such as the Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island Al Sahel Villa Resort, beach clubs, places of recreation and amusement, theme parks, and sporting grounds. This is why more than 150,000 spectators from all around the world will travel there for the F1 season finale at Yas Marina Circuit in November.
Through the launch of the Metaverse project, the authorities aim to increase this reach to millions of fans at home. The metaverse project plans to build a virtual replica for users to experience and participate in the activities, and adventures that residents and visitors have come to know of the real-world version, such as riding the world’s fastest rollercoaster at Ferrari World or getting behind the wheel of a race car on the F1 track. People can have access to areas of the real and virtual worlds that they might not have otherwise, through a project like the Yas Island Metaverse.
