Macau Dragon Boat Festival

The Macau Dragon Boat Festival is a much looked forward to popular event each year since its maiden launch in 1979. By 1982, it became an international contest due to its high popularity and wide participation from competitors from around the world. This famous festival falls on the 5th day of the 5th lunar month each year. It is jointly organized by the Sports Development Board and Dragon Boats Association of Macau. The grand event of the city of Macau is held at the Nautical Centre of Praia Grande which is a fully-equipped location with food stands and a stage for performances. The festival attracts thousands of locals and foreign visitors who come specially to enjoy the dragon boat races together with great food and entertainment during the time of the festival which transforms the city into a majestic fun-filled carnival.
