MACL honoured with Travel Retail Superstar Award – A well-deserved accolade

Maldives Airports Company Limited, colloquially known as MACL, was honoured with the Star Story Asia Pacific Award in recognition of its admirable service in the face of the COVID-19 crisis; this recognition was for its back office, Duty Free Maldives and merchandising team. The award was presented at the first edition of the Travel Retail Superstar Awards 2021, part of the Travel Retail Expo, a five-day event hosted virtually from 11th to 15th October 2021.

The award was offered to MACL in honour of its frontline and back-office employees, who worked relentlessly to keep the travel retail industry alive when it was near impossible to do so. The win was a further boost to this Indian Ocean destination which has been one of the success stories in the tourism industry even during the pandemic; from staying at the best resorts in Maldives including those of hospitality brands like Adaaran Resorts to enjoying safe and fun experiences, the country continues to attract travellers the world over.
