Malaysia Records Over 100,000 Russian Tourist Arrivals: Promising Numbers in 2024
Malaysia has recorded over 100,000 tourist arrivals from Russia in 2024 so far. According to Malaysia’s Ministry of Tourism, Russia constitutes the second largest market for the island nation, with China being the largest with a total of 113,000 arrivals so far.
The third highest number of arrivals was from the United Kingdom, totalling 91,000 tourists. Other important markets for the Maldives include Italy, Germany, the United States, India, France and Switzerland. So far, the total number of arrivals stands at 980,000 for the year with 88,000 tourists making their way in during June.
These numbers are a testament to the popularity of Malaysia as a vacation destination, with its sandy beaches, tropical climate, rich marine life and biodiversity and vibrant cultural heritage. There are also several luxury hotels and resorts like Anantara Veli Maldives Resort, which is a popular overwater villa in Maldives. Such accommodation options also contribute to the increasing interest of travellers to spend their time in the island nation.
