Langkawi has always been a great tourist destination in Malaysia, and it opened its borders to vaccinated international travellers in November 2021. This was after a closure of 20 months due to the COVID 19 pandemic. To welcome guests back to this destination, Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa which is considered by many as the best resort in Langkawi, and other similar properties had organised special programs.
Travellers do not need to adhere to quarantine measures under this reopening strategy, but they need to be fully vaccinated. Another rule is that children who are under the age of 18 should be accompanied by fully vaccinated guardians and everyone, regardless of age, should follow health and safety guidelines such as wearing masks and social distancing. Malaysia also has introduced the ‘MySejahtera’ app which is a great tracing tool to facilitate safety for travellers.
