Malaysia Updates Entry Protocols – Destination Promotions Also Ongoing

Having reopened its international borders last year, Malaysia updated its entry protocols slightly from 31st December 2022 in keeping with the changing situation regarding the global pandemic. As per the new regulations, foreign tourists need to self-declare any COVID-19-related symptoms as well as submit to a health screening at the entry point. In addition to this, tourists who have been in China for a period of up to 14 days before arriving in Malaysia must take a rapid antigen test; this also applies to those who have been in close contact with travellers who have visited China within two weeks of arrival. Since such protocols are being updated regularly, tourists should always check for the latest guidelines before they visit.

Meanwhile, Tourism Malaysia has also been busy promoting the destination at several key events in 2023 as it hopes to record 15.6 million tourist arrivals by the end of the year. These include participating in the Borsa Internazionale del Turismo (BIT) in Milan from 12th to 14th February 2023 and the Internationale Tourismus-Borse (ITB) Berlin from 7th to 9th March 2023. It’s expected that more tourists will be drawn to the country once more where they can enjoy everything from city exploration to coastal adventures at Desaru Coast-based beach resorts in Malaysia; additionally, properties here such as Anantara Desaru Coast Resort & Villas also offer safe accommodation and the chance to experience the best of the region too.
