Maldives has achieved a remarkable milestone in tourism with tourist arrivals surpassing 1,165,337, according to recent statistics released by the Ministry of Tourism. The figures for 2023 show a 13.8% increase compared to the same period last year, reflecting the archipelago nation’s strong appeal. Despite a slight dip in May and June, monthly arrivals have consistently neared 200,000 this year, with August recording a 17.1% surge compared to the previous year. The highest daily arrivals for August occurred on the 12th, reaching over 6,600 visitors.
The data signifies Maldives’ enduring allure as a premier tourist destination. Notably, the likes of Embudu Village, a modern and preferred Maldives spa resort, remain popular choices among visitors seeking a tranquil retreat amidst the stunning Maldivian landscapes. The consistent growth in tourist arrivals and the breathtaking natural beauty of Maldives make it a destination that truly captures the hearts of travellers from around the world.
