The first of its kind in the world, Maldives Border Miles, a three-tiered loyalty scheme for travellers was launched on 1st December 2020. Those who sign up for this novel initiative will earn points each time they arrive in the country as well as for the duration of their stay and if they visit for special occasions.
With the opening up of international borders in July, luxury resorts have also begun operations; travellers considering where to stay in Maldives can choose from key properties the likes of Reethi Faru Resort which follow strict health and hygiene guidelines too. With a focus on tourism promotion, Maldives Border Miles has three categories or tiers namely, gold (“Abaarana”), silver (“Antara”) and bronze (“Aida”); each of these offers various benefits, services and rewards that can be claimed once a certain number of points are collected.
