| A step that was seen as one that would help expand the Maldivian tourism sector, the first ever Travel Trade Maldives (TTM) and Tourism Career Fair took place recently. Highlighting everything from Maldives attractions and experiences to the many island resorts and hotels available for foreign visitors, the TTM was held from 12th to 13th July 2017 at Dharubaaruge in Male. As part of the event, a special closing night gala was hosted at Adaaran Select Hudhuranfushi, one of the Maldivian properties of Adaaran Resorts. It was here that the Maldives Travel Awards: People’s Edition was also unveiled and which saw 10 individuals being recognised for their outstanding work in the hospitality industry. Another important feature of Travel Trade Maldives 2017 was the Tourism Career Fair which gave young hopefuls and potential candidates a chance to gain internships and career opportunities at some of the country’s leading hotels and resorts. |
