Maldives Honored for Outstanding Contribution to Female Diving: A Global First

The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) proudly announced the Maldives’ receipt of the prestigious PADI “Outstanding Contribution to Female Diving” Award. This accolade recognized the nation’s dedication to supporting and empowering female divers.

The OBLU XPErience Ailafushi, its popular sister Maldives dive resort, is just as attentive regarding its diving experiences. The PADI® award, the first of its kind globally, celebrated their efforts in creating a welcoming environment for female divers of all levels. PADI’s Regional Manager, Matt Wenger, highlighted PADI’s longstanding support for female diving since its inception in 1966. The award ceremony, attended by the Maldives’ Minister of State for Tourism, was held on Helengeli Island and included a PADI Women’s Dive Day event. The Maldives’ crystal-clear waters and vibrant marine life make it an unparalleled diving destination for women divers.
