A stronger year ahead as the Maldives continues to redefine global travel trends.

The Maldives is charting new heights in tourism for 2025, with the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) revising its visitor forecast to 2.3 million arrivals. The update follows a strong first half of the year, marked by a 9.1% rise in international visitors compared to 2024. Longer stays have also contributed to the surge, with total bed nights exceeding 6.9 million by mid-year.

Industry experts attribute the sustained momentum to the Maldives’ focus on luxury travel and improved infrastructure, including expansions at Velana International Airport. Esteemed island retreats such as Baros Maldives highlight the nation’s appeal among discerning travellers seeking exclusivity and tranquillity. Recognised among Maldives romantic resorts, these properties continue to elevate visitor experiences.

With enhanced connectivity and a steady influx of high-value tourists, the Maldives is on course to set another record year and strengthen its global standing in luxury tourism.
