Empowering young minds to solve tomorrow’s challenges through innovation and robotics
At the “Robo Show – 2025,” the Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education, Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, emphasised the pivotal role of education in equipping students to tackle modern challenges using technology. The event, held at the Ape Gama premises in Battaramulla, showcased schoolchildren’s talents in robotics and innovation from across Sri Lanka.
Dr. Amarasuriya noted that educational reforms are aligning with global technological trends and labor market needs, integrating subjects from artificial intelligence and robotics to agriculture and engineering.
The competition, open to students from Grades 6 to 13 nationwide, showcases their talent, encourages inventive thinking, and develops skills aligned with future workforce demands. Participants competed across areas such as health, entertainment, environmental studies, and production, with winners receiving financial prizes and certificates.
As Sri Lanka expands opportunities in technology education, institutions like the National Institute of Business Management are offering specialised robotics courses in Sri Lanka to help young innovators gain practical skills for the future.
