Maldives Records 1.8 Million Tourists in 2023 – Highest Arrivals Figure in the Nation’s History

In December last year, the Maldives reached its goal of welcoming 1.8 million tourists and by doing so, surpassed the record for the country’s highest arrivals figure. This milestone was reached on 20th December 2023 with the arrival of Dutch citizen, Mr. Stefan Mathijs Hermans and his family. To mark the occasion, the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation held a celebration at the Velana International Airport attended by those representing the Ministry of Tourism as well as other dignitaries.

A remarkable tourism success story, the country has gone from strength to strength, cementing its position as one of the leading global tourist destinations. The best resorts in Maldives continue to attract travellers from around the world which bodes well as this Indian Ocean nation looks to achieve its 2 million arrivals target for 2024. These private island properties include Grand Park Kodhipparu Maldives which offers guests the chance to enjoy the best of this destination be it for family fun, intimate romance, holistic healing, or thrilling adventures.
