Maldives resorts Grow Superfoods in its ‘Zero Mile’ Resort Gardens – Self-sufficiency is back!

Even though the Maldives is not quite popular as a country that’s adept at agriculture, Maldives luxury resorts the likes of Amilla Maldives Resort and Residences have come up with a novel initiative where they grow their food.

These resorts use their portion of tropical land to grow fruits, vegetables, and yams. They aim to work in harmony with nature and reduce their ‘foodprints’ in the long run. Plants that harvest fruits such as banana, pineapple, and papaya have already been planted and harvests of sweet potatoes are ready to be reaped. There isn’t a lack of coconut trees in the Maldives as it’s a tropical destination, and these resorts also have thought to take the maximum use of this availability too. Fresh coconut water, coconut milk, coconut oil, and flour will be produced taking multi-benefits from the same tree.
