Maldives See Growing Tourist Arrivals – Travel Enthusiasts Flocking to the Country

Following increasing tourist numbers at the end of last year, the Maldives has continued to see arrivals steadily growing this year as well. In February, Abdulla Mausoom, the Minister of Tourism, tweeted that the country’s tourism industry is likely to see full recovery by mid-2021 with the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination initiative also underway. The tourism ministry has additionally set its sights on achieving a minimum of 1.5 million arrivals by year’s end.

To achieve this goal, the country must have an average of 4,000 tourists arriving daily for the rest of the year or have a significant rise in numbers during international holiday periods. Since the borders opened last year, travellers have once more returned to the Maldives. Villas at private island resorts such as Grand Park Kodhipparu, Maldives continue to be a popular option; guests not only enjoy luxury accommodation and diverse experiences but enhanced sanitisation and hygiene measures to ensure a safe holiday too.
