Maldives & Sri Lanka to See More Flights from Aeroflot – A Boost for Tourism on the Cards

The tourism industries of the Maldives and Sri Lanka will be expecting a boost in arrivals in the upcoming months as Russian airline, Aeroflot, has confirmed it will add flights to these two South Asian destinations. From 1st October 2023, the Maldivian capital, Male, will see SU320/321 flights increase from four to seven per week. Meanwhile, on 1st November 2023, three additional flights are scheduled to operate as well on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. Russia continues to be a key source market for tourism here and the rise in flights will give travellers a chance to enjoy stays at luxury villas in Maldives; these include those on private island resorts like Amaya Kuda Rah Maldives where guests can experience the best of this tropical paradise.

Likewise, Sri Lanka will also see an increase in Aeroflot flights from 9th September 2023 when the additional services have been implemented; travellers can look forward to flights from Moscow, Russia’s capital, to Colombo, Sri Lanka’s commercial capital, on Sundays, Thursdays, and Saturdays with return flights on each of the following days respectively. Such moves will help to bring more Russian tourists to this island nation as well.
