Maldives to Launch Direct Flights between Gan and South Africa – More Destinations more Possibilities!

Maldives is expecting to introduce direct flights to South Africa from the one of the international airports located in the southern atoll of Maldives ;Addu International Airport (AIA). This was announced by the Managing Director of AIA, Mohamed Latheef during a media briefing. During the event he also added that a number of tour operators had already flown in for the discussions to commence operations within this year. Entrepreneurs believe that this is good economic decision by Maldives which will bring in more visitors to Maldives resorts the likes of Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas.

Addu International Airport  was upgraded in 2016 with an investment of 45 million USD and now to add value to the investment this plan has been proposed. Media sources also state that discussions are going on with two other airlines and the first flights will be scheduled to fly between Addu and South Africa somewhere in late November or early December.
