Maldives Tourism Continues Recovery – A Virtual Tour Expo to Also be Held

The Maldives has seen increasing numbers of arrivals and continues to be amongst the most remarkable success stories when it comes to tourism following the outbreak of the COVID-19 global pandemic last year. From 1st January 2021 to 2nd May 2021, it had recorded a 3.7% growth in arrivals compared to the same period last year; by the end of this year, it is hoping to reach a target of 1.5 million tourists to the country. At Maldives resorts, honeymoon holidays are still a popular option with properties such as Adaaran Select Meedhupparu offering safe stays on a private island.

To further boost traveller interest, the country will also be hosting a Maldives Virtual Tour Expo in July 2021 for two weeks; during this virtual consumer travel fair, visitors will get the chance to not only take virtual tours of islands but also sign up for exciting lucky draws to win holidays to the Maldives.
