Maldivians assess reef health

For the first time ever Maldives have carried out a research into the reef life of the archipelago, with the aim of assessing and preserving the beautiful reefs which they consider as national treasures as they bring hordes of tourists to their shores and create a wondrous marine biodiversity. If you are planning to spend your dream vacation in the island nation at Anantara Dhigu Resort & Spa Maldives; a premier among the Maldives resort Maldives, a dive into some of the best Maldivian reefs like the HP and Banana reefs, will give you an idea of how much they are cherished and admired as schools of colorful fish, giant Manta Rays and Whale Sharks surround you while your eyes feast on the rainbow coral formations. Results of the ground-breaking research carried out at the Velassaru Faru reef revealed that the reef had good resistance to bleaching and modest algal growth, but recordings of few invertebrates and grouper fish indicated over-fishing, for which evidence was seen in the form of many lost or discarded fishing lines.
