Mauritius Secures three Prestigious Awards at the 2022 World Travel Awards for the Indian Ocean

Mauritius, a tropical paradise tucked away in the Indian Ocean, recently won 3 prestigious awards at the 2022 World Travel Awards for the Indian Ocean. The winners were selected based on votes and were declared during a prestigious gala dinner which was held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre in Nairobi, Kenya on 15 October. The 3 awards bagged by Mauritius were titled Indian Ocean’s Leading Adventure Tourism Destination’; ‘Indian Ocean’s Leading Wedding Destination’; and, for the first time, ‘Indian Ocean’s Leading Sustainable Tourism Destination’ and were nothing short of a testament to the unwavering hospitality and the rapidly surging tourism industry of the island nation.

Commenting on the recognition received by the country, the Director of the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority added that it is indeed an honour for Mauritius to have won these accolades despite the unprecedented challenges faced by the global tourism industry in light of the pandemic. Home to lush greenery, sandy beaches, sweeping mountains, and stunning cascades, some of the best resorts in Mauritius like the lavish The Residence Mauritius by Cenizaro are eagerly waiting to re-welcome guests where they will be pampered with exceptional comforts of life.
