Mauritius Surpasses One Million Bookings in 2022 – New Tourism Campaign Also Launched

At the beginning of 2023, Mauritius was proud to announce that it had achieved more than one million bookings from 1st January 2022 to 1st January this year. This was good news for the country where tourism generally accounts for almost 24% of the GDP. Amongst the initiatives that led to the increase in visitors in 2022 was the Premium Visa scheme that catered to digital nomads; there were also schemes granting prospective foreign homebuyers permanent residency status.

This positive trend is expected to continue, and Mauritius is targeting to reach 1.4 million arrivals in 2023. To help meet this goal, the country launched a new global tourism campaign recently under the theme “Feel our Island Energy”. It will look to highlight such features as the nation’s beaches, mountains, waterfalls, national parks, markets and more. Amongst the key natural attractions you can find here is Blue Bay; Mauritius hotels to consider from where one can explore this site would be Anantara Iko Mauritius Resort & Villas which lets travellers experience the best of this enchanting destination.
