With Christmas fast approaching, the city of Melbourne is beginning its transformation for the holiday season. Amongst the key events to look forward to is the month-long Christmas Festival which generally launches from 25th November to 25th December each year. For those heading to Melbourne, short stay apartments in the CBD provide easy access to the best areas and attractions of this festival. A popular highlight is Federation Square near Citadines on Bourke Melbourne which becomes a festive wonderland complete with a huge, lit-up Christmas tree spanning around 16 metres in height.
Catering to the whole family, the Christmas Festival in Melbourne is known for plenty more other features too. These include Santa’s Big Workshop where kids can see Santa and his elves at work, the decorated Myer Christmas Windows and light projections across landmarks such as the State Library of Victoria. Also, of note is the Australia Post General Post Office on Elizabeth Street which has a special post box for kids wanting to send letters to Santa.
