Lesotho Tourism Development Corporation (LTDC) honoured and praised women in tourism as part of the Africa Women’s Month Celebration. An effort called the Woman in Tourist Program aims to encourage and promote the advancement of women in the travel and tourism industry.
The Minister of Tourism, Environment, and Culture, Ms Nthloi Motsamai, spoke at the occasion and expressed her thanks for being invited to take part in this lovely celebration. She encouraged them to work hard, support one another, and leave their own legacies, stating that the event will be bigger and better the following year. She pointed out that since women started working in the tourism industry, they have had a good impact on the nation’s economy. Many hotels in Lesotho such as the Avani Lesotho Hotel & Casino are starting to have a great turnover of guests after the pandemic.
